On Easter Sunday, Christians around the world celebrate the resurrection from the death of our savior, Jesus Christ.
Three days after Jesus’ death, on what we call Good Friday (which comes from “God’s Friday”) he rose from the dead and came back to life, according to the Scriptures. This shows that Jesus has broken the power of sin and death over us, and that he offers us a way to eternal life.
To celebrate this day, people use prayers to thank God for giving them hope and strength to walk the path to new life in Jesus.
Here are some simple prayers for Easter. “Amen” at the end of each prayer, means “let it be true”:
