"Melody Star" Mundharmonika / Harmonica

The "Melody Star" is a very popular single-note harmonica in solo tuning. The large, widely spaced channels / channels are provided with protruding channel openings and thus make it easier to hit the individual notes. The range is two full octaves in the key of "C" major. The so-called "solo" tuning is mainly used with chromatic instruments. This songbook can therefore also be used as preparation for playing or by players of the chromatic harmonica. A special feature of this solo tuning is the double occurrence of the root "C" in cell 4 and 5, each as a blaston. When the songs were edited, this identical tone was used in such a way that it matches the respective neighboring tones or the course of the melody. The graphic above shows the Melody Star harmonica with the numbers / symbols used in the book. The numbers can also be found on the instrument, the underscore means "draw tone". Amazing Grace
Trad. / Pattern: 1 _ 2 & 3
That was grace that taught my heart to fear,
and grace my fears relieved.
How precious did that grace appear, the hour I first believed!
Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come.
That was grace that brought me safe thus far, and grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promised good to me,
his word my hope secures.
He will my shield and porion be, as long as life endures.
Yes, when this lesh and heart shall fail,
and mortal life shall cease.
I shall possess, within the veil, a life of joy and peace.
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
the sun forbear to shine.
But God, who call'd me here below, will be forever mine.
Angel Band
Trad. / Pattern: 1 _ 2 & 3 &
I know I'm near the holy ranks, of friends and kindred dear.
I brush the dew on Jordan's banks, the crossing must be near.
I've almost gained my heavenly home, my spirit loudly sings.
The holy ones, behold they come, I hear the noise of wings.
Oh bear my longing heart to him, who bled and died for me.
Whose blood now cleanses from, all sin, and gives me victory.
Auld Lang Syne
Trad. / Pattern: 1 & 2 & 3 _ 4 &
And surely you will buy your cup and surely I'll buy mine,
And we'll take a cup o'kindness yet - for auld lang syne.
Chorus:
For auld lang syne, my dear, for auld lang syne,
We'll take a cup o' kindness yet, for auld lang syne.
We too have run around the slopes and picked the daisies ine,
We've londoned many weary foot since auld lang syne.
Chorus
We too have paddled in the stream from morning sun to night,
But the seas between us broad have roared from auld lang syne.
