      Chapter 1

“Ms. Morgan, Dr. Glenn wants to see you. He’s waiting for you in his office.”

      Chapter 2

The train stopped slowly with a squeaking sound at Plymouth station. Veronique pulled her little suitcase behind her on the platform and with the backpack on her shoulders, she wound her way through the crowd in the station hall towards the exit. She felt exhausted and she was moving as if she were remote-controlled, barely noticing anything around her.

      Chapter 3

The flight to New York took about eight hours. As a United States American citizen, Chris Bailey did not have to queue in the long line at the immigration control of JFK airport. He soon left the airport building behind him and he took a cab to the Carlyle Hotel. He had been staying there for years when he was in town. He loved the proximity to Central Park and he often went jogging there. In the Carlyle he always booked the same suite, which was big and tastefully furnished. Chris did not attach much importance to luxury, but he wanted to make his travels as comfortable as possible. He called his former colleague Robert.

      Chapter 4

Robin Harris followed attentively the presentation of a CEO at a conference of the London banks. It was about the security of transferable bank data. It was clear to him that no details would be revealed here, but he was amazed at how far behind today’s possibilities the CEO were.

      Chapter 5

As was often the case, Veronique stayed in the office until late in the evening. She searched the Internet for details of Mr. Winston Brandt’s life. And she found some interesting, not always very flattering aspects in his biography that were however not relevant for a trial.
