Creative Commons Netherlands Premsela, Dutch Platform for Design and Fashion Waag Society
Creative Commons Netherlands aims to advance the use of Creative Commons licences in the Netherlands. Creative Commons Netherlands is a collaboration between Waag Society, Nederland Kennisland and the Institute for Information Law (IViR) at the University of Amsterdam.
Premsela, the Dutch Platform for Design and Fashion, creates opportunities for the growth of Dutch design from a cultural perspective. Premsela organizes lectures, debates and exhibitions. Its other activities include the publication of Morf, the Netherlands’ biggest design magazine, and the international web portal Design.nl.
Waag Society develops creative technology for social innovation. The foundation researches, develops concepts, pilots and prototypes and acts as an intermediate between the arts, science and the media. Waag Society cooperates with cultural, public and private parties.
Bas van Abel is Creative Director at Waag Society. Bas is passionate about developing a wide variety of projects based on open design principles. As co-founder of Waag Society’s Fab Lab and the Instructables Restaurant, he is an active member of the international maker and digital fabrication community.
Lucas Evers is Head of the e-Culture Programme at Waag Society. Lucas is involved in projects at the intersection of art, science, design and society, extending the reach of e-Culture to a wider range of technology-informed disciplines.
Roel Klaassen is Director of Education at Duisenberg School of Finance, an initiative that aims to train responsible young finance professionals. Roel is a design enthusiast with an academic background in design, psychology and strategic management. Previously he worked on People’s Republic of Design, a Premsela programme that has successfully stimulated the development of an open design culture.
Peter Troxler is an independent researcher and concept developer with an interest in the overall architecture and design of the social, technological and commercial aspects of enterprises, focusing on companies as permanent organizations and projects as temporary organizations.
