Introduction - Summation of Books 1 and 2

In book one, Adventures of Space Cadets 101: Space Pirates, Allies, and Aliens, brothers Austen and Derek Houston captain their ship The One-Oh-One into space. While they are investigating Professor Cross' ship, Earth Defense (ED) comes onboard the 101 looking for JR, the oldest Houston brother who is wanted on earth for criminal activity. JR, though illegally aboard, secures his right to his brothers' protection when he keeps Extra Terrestrials from kidnapping his teenaged nephew, Kirk. When the Space Cadets finally make it to Jupiter Station they find that Space Pirates have taken it over, but Kirk and JR take care of the problem. Derek is shot up by Space Pirates and loses his memory - even the memory of his proposal of marriage to Deana Kester. ED makes the new 101 retreat into an armada of Space Pirates. They are rescued by alien friends, the Lizardians, and taken into deep space where the two new allies answer a distress signal.

In book two, Adventures of Space Cadets 101: Invasions, the Space Cadets saved Earth from the Trex and the Leonsians, thanks to their new space ship they found and dubbed "The Turtle." They discovered the vessel on the planet Kess to which they are returning. JR, the brother of Co-Captains Derek and Austen Houston, is in charge of the space pirates and no longer a wanted man by Earth's law enforcement agencies. Jupiter Station was destroyed in the invasion of Earth, but it is being rebuilt by the Space Cadets, as are secret bases on both the outer moons, Europa and Titan.

The planet Kess now is populated by citizens from several worlds and is the birthplace and home base of the Alliance of Planets, an organization made up by the Houstons to protect Earth, Scunrus, Lizarde, Kess, and all of the shipping lanes among these planets. At least the space Cadets finally made it to Earth for shore leave which is something they'll never forget.

From invasions at Earth to saving the universe, the Space Cadets are always up to the challenge. They now own the most powerful starship and they aren't afraid to use it. They are constantly training to be ready for whatever comes their way.

Look for the next The Adventures of Space Cadets 101 for more excitement and new friends.

      Chapter 1

      PROMOTIONS

In the conference room, past the big table there was a desk that so far was only for two commanders aboard the Turtle: Commander Dale Hawkins and Commander Deana Kester. On this late shift, the beautiful Ms. Kester was sitting at the desk. It was a mahogany desk and it was good enough for a president. It wasn't that big a room, but it was big enough for what it was used for.

She was ordered to interview all of the new cadets that had joined the Turtle from the second wave of recruits. She was half way through her list and her next appointment was late, ten Earth minutes late to be exact. It was her job to find out who vouched for each cadet, and to find a suitable job onboard the Turtle depending on each cadet's qualifications.

Nick Turozski entered the conference room wearing his civilian clothes. He was tall and built sturdily with brown eyes that reminded Deana of both Turtle captains, and he was the same age they were. Also, she already knew of this cadet from her earlier days back on Earth in Florida, from hanging out with the Houston boys during their musical days. She did not like Nick for personal reasons, and the feeling was mutual.

When he entered she said, "You're late, Mr. Turozski."

He came up to her desk and swung his long right leg over the empty chair. As he sat down he said, "So what? I'm here aren't I?"

She smiled at him while containing her fury and reminded him that punctuality was a must in space and on the ship. Nick said, "I'm only here because my friends, the captains on this ship, said I had to be here. So what's next?"

She smiled again remembering that this jerk was the captains' best friend, and she didn't want to be uncomfortable around the captains, especially Derek, for whom she had more than a thing. She was going through his folder and said to him without looking his way, "I think the best job for you would be the cook on this ship."

His reply was, "Well I really don't care what you think, Commander. I am probably the best engineer on this ship and you want to put me in the galley?"

She said, "No offense, Cadet. I just know
