Finn couldn’t stand seeing her distress.
“I’m sorry,” Eva murmured. “I don’t know what’s wrong with me.”
“Nothing is wrong with you, Eva.” Finn’s own voice was low and husky with emotion. “You have every right to be upset. There’s been nothing but threats and danger at every turn.”
She didn’t answer. Finn had promised himself to offer comfort, nothing more.
