      Now you should be ready for your big day or event – or simply feeling ready to take on the world. To maximize the results, we’ve provided a few final quick fixes to make you look and feel your best.

       FREE FIXES

      Stand tall: Hunched-over posture can add pounds to your frame. Stand tall by imagining you have a piece of thread running through your body and out of the crown of your head, which is gently pulling you upwards.

      Pull it in: Being able to hold in your abdominals is a skill worth knowing. Don’t suck everything in and hold your breath, though. Focus on mastering the rib – hip connection even when you are standing. Training your pelvic floor muscles will also help tone your lower abdominal muscles. To do this, take a breath into the lower rib cage and, as you exhale, draw up the muscles of the pelvic floor, as if you were trying to stop yourself having a pee.

      Pile it up: Wearing your hair up adds height to your overall figure and makes your face look slimmer. If you have short hair, try wearing it off your face to slim down features.

      Go dark and mysterious: It’s a fact – wearing black makes you look slimmer. If it drains your complexion, go for a dark color such as chocolate brown, eggplant or charcoal grey and wear the same color on top and bottom for a slimming effect.

       CHEAP FIXES

      Flush it out: Rid yourself of any excess fluid by drinking fennel or dandelion tea.

      Disguise it: You can get some fantastically clever underwear these days, from tights and panties with tummy control panels to “butt-lifting” tights. Check out your local department store to see what’s on offer.

       TREAT FIXES

      Get sun-kissed: A golden glow always gives a leaner look than pasty white skin. Treat yourself to a professionally applied fake tan. (If you’re doing it at home, exfoliate first to prevent smears and patches.)

      Wrap it up: Indulge in an Inch Loss Wrap. While this type of treatment won’t provide lasting results, it will give you a 1–2 day inch loss as a result of fluid loss. It may be just the extra confidence kick you need for your big event …
