left the table dodging servers on their way. Jimmy and Rizzo watched their desirable forms disappear into a hallway leading to the restrooms.

"They may have had a close call last night," Jimmy commented. "Is it a coincidence that Janelle's senator was at the Galaxy, too?"

"Could be. Sugar's senator is a definite follow up. Why don't we separate the girls tonight and interrogate them. We can compare notes tomorrow." Rizzo said thinking like a detective.

Jimmy nodded his approval. "Pillow talk suits my style for getting information."

The ladies returned and the boys stood. Rizzo took Tonya's hand. "It's time for dessert."

The thought of personalized desserts brought smiles back on everyone's face. Jimmy signed for the meals. While waiting for the valets to bring their cars, Jimmy asked the girls, "What was your general impression of Sneed and Wing?"

Tonya jumped all over the question. "I think I'm too skinny for Wing. He likes fat women."

Sugar continued. "I'm too tall for Sneed. He talked about wanting to date short women."

"Glad you girls don't have any short, fat appeal," Rizzo chuckled.

It was a tossup who enjoyed their desserts more. The boys were happy to lay in a place without hearing gunshots. The girls were thankful their Evan Williams drinks scored manly men. Last night's spectacular sex made for late starts the next day. The two couples met for brunch at the Galaxy poolside gazebo. Jimmy and Sugar joined Rizzo and Tonya at a table in the shade. Their tired demeanor blended with the baggy-eyed, after-midnight gamblers surrounding them.

Their brunch lasted until the girls had to depart for rehearsals. Tonya regained her spunkiness asking, "Dessert? Tonight?"

Rizzo returned, "Work day tomorrow. I may need my rest. Text me when the show is over. If I'm awake, I'll answer."

Jimmy said, "My sweet tooth wants more. I'm not as responsible as Riz." He looked at Sugar. "Leave two tickets at the door for us. I'll convince Mr. Responsibility to come out and play."

The girls spring up with renewed energy. Their fellows were going to be at the show tonight. They walk away with a coordinated sway.

"How did your pillow talk go?" Jimmy asked calling the server over. "More iced tea and simple syrup, please."

"Your middle name from now on is sweetness."

"And yours is spill, as in spill the beans. What did Tonya have to say?"

"Tonya hung out with a guy named Wing. Apparently, he's a vice president for a Chinese company. He lives part time in San Francisco, DC and in Beijing, in his company's co-ops." Rizzo reported. "How about your pillow talk?"

The server filled their glasses with more iced tea. "Leave the pitcher, please," Jimmy said. The server did and walked away.

Jimmy gulped the tea and poured his glass full again. "Sugar entertained one Senator Larry Sneed. He's a Senator from Arizona. He likes gambling and kinky sex."

Rizzo asked the obvious question. "How does Sugar know that?"

"Sneed asked the girls to go to Chelsea's Pony Farm with them. He wanted her to do it with a midget guy while he screwed a midget girl."

Rizzo rocked back in his chair and laughed. "That's so funny. Wing wanted Tonya to do it with a dog while he made it with a fat, black woman. Apparently, he's into sticking it anywhere there's a fold, whatever that means."

Jimmy boiled the information down when they each stopped laughing, "We have two perverts pretending to be responsible citizens."

Rizzo pointed to the pitcher of iced tea. "That's all yours. I'm out of here."

"See you at the girl's show tonight. Meet me outside in the lounge to the right of the Starlight Room a little before eight."

Rizzo grinned. "The things I do for assists."

The Galaxy limo stopped at Pioneer Airlines. Wing was heading to San Francisco for the week.

Sneed said to him when the limo stopped, "Li, I hope you enjoyed yourself. I'm surprised that round woman you played with last night didn't smother you."

Wing turned and said, "I like."

Sneed mocked the way Wing spoke. "I likely mine too. I thought that little gymnast would break my dick. I'll have to remember her name."

After making a mental note to remember the name, Roxie. Sneed continued. "Meet me here in Vegas next weekend. I promise to greet you with good news about the Refuse land."

Wing agreed. "I'll call you for arrangements. Ok?"

"Yes, that will be fine." Sneed watched Wing walk into the terminal.

      Then he called Locci.

Locci answered his private cell number. "Hello."

"Ralph, this is Larry. Is the Refuse matter behind us?"

"Yes. The deed should be ready early this week."

"It better be. I promised the buyer I'd settle up with him here next weekend."

"You want the same penthouse suite?"

"Yes. And the same escort girls, too."

      Chapter 20 Spies R Us

Jimmy handed Rizzo a ticket outside the Starlight Room. "You know the girls are excited for us to be here tonight."

Rizzo nodded and said, "Follow me."

He weaved his way through the waiting lines. Jimmy followed like a puppy. When they approached the VIP entrance, Rizzo flashed his badge. The doorman immediately stepped aside and they entered an enormous ballroom.

A soft purple lighting warmly bathed the Starlight Room from floor to ceiling. Stage front extended the entire length of one of the six walls. Star-formed projections reflected about the hexagon shape interior. The columns along the walls created an illusion of increased depth. The circus tent shaped roof with painted, fixed constellations on the ceiling increase the feeling of vastness.

Jimmy had never been inside this room. "This place is big enough to house Hughes's flying boat!"

Then Jimmy stopped Rizzo. "We'd didn't need tickets, did we?"

"Jimmy, the badge gets me into anywhere in Vegas."

"I guess the mob has great respect for the law," Jimmy half-smiled.

Rizzo nodded. "Especially when the law keeps the strip safe from petty criminals."

They wondered to the table number on the tickets. They were stage-right, first row.

After sitting Jimmy said, "I snooped around the hotel after you left this morning. Some of the servers say Sneed is a regular. They remember him as a lousy tipper. They also said he hangs around with Ralph Locci. I checked and Locci is the hotel's CEO."

Rizzo took in what Jimmy said. "I ran a background check on Larry Sneed. He's a U.S. Senator with no rap sheet. He's clean, as far as the law is concerned."

They pondered the information exchange throughout the performance. The Elvis Presley impersonator had the over sixties crowd mouthing the words to old Elvis favorites.

For the jailbreak finale, the dancers wore feathered headdresses with mirrored bikini outfits. Jimmy remarked after the applauds died down, "There was more costume on their heads than on their bodies!"

Sugar and Tonya bounced towards their table about twenty minutes after the cast took their final bows. The first thing out of Rizzo's mouth was, "How do they get your outfits so shinny?"

Tonya perked up. "Those are tiny mirror-sequent's. They're glued on to the material."

Jimmy noted, "Your costumes don't leave much to the imagination."

Sugar replied. "Now you can understand why Meg, our hot wax, esthetician is on speed dial."
