sport of Fitness that we compete in, is a relatively new and developing sport, growing tremendously in the United States and Europe, particularly in the category of women’s fitness. Pairs fitness started in the year 2000.

      In Pairs Fitness competitions, there are two rounds: Round one is a 90-second fitness acrobatic routine, showcasing to the judges your cardiovascular, muscular endurance, agility, strength, power, flexibility, and showmanship. Round two is a muscularity round, or posing round, where up to 10 judges look at your body in eight compulsory poses. They judge the size and symmetry of the muscles on your body.

      On the world stage, our bodies are required to look perfectly symmetrical with tightly toned muscularity and as little as 4% body fat for males and 15% for females. Now, to get into this shape, we follow a set training and eating regime for 84 days, and that is all it takes.

      We have taught our training system, Fusion Workouts, and eating plan, Eat Green Stay LeanTM, to thousands of clients over the last 15 years with an enormous amount of success. Our program gets results for our clients that commit to action. Meaning, that it’s YOU who will be doing all the work. We will educate you and inspire you to take control of your health and turn that motivational switch on in your head!

      Our training systems, outlined in this book, along with advice and recommendations, have been a continual work in progress over a 15-year period. This has been a combination of our passion in fitness and health and striving for excellence in our chosen sport. We have read literally hundreds of articles and books, listened to hundreds of motivational tapes and CDs, watched numerous documentaries, and surfed countless hours on the Internet viewing case studies and the latest research.

      Change Your Body is a collection of research that has been done by inspiring authors, exercise specialists, wellness speakers, and others who are passionate about making a difference to the health of everyone on our planet. Without their knowledge, competing at the highest level and teaching others to change their bodies would not be possible. We acknowledge these people for helping not just us, but millions of people around the world.

      We have gone through the trials and tribulations of all the latest exercise crazes and fads. We have tasted all the protein shakes, eaten the high-tech protein bars, and tried the revolutionary machines. Everything that has worked for us and our clients is here in this book in plain English for you to now devour!

      Motivational comments, analogies, and stories will be spread throughout the book and will be found when you need them the most. The quotes in this book will also serve as daily motivators. Carry this book with you and flick through it on a daily basis for inspiring quotes, tips, and motivation.

      Everything mentioned in Change Your Body is our opinion and what we believe to be true at the time we wrote it. The subject of health and fitness is an evolving one with new research being presented daily. We are the very best at what we do, and this book contains information that will put you in the best shape of your life.

      Everyone’s goals are different. Your goal may be to lose 5 or 20 kilograms, to increase muscle size, tone up or stop an addiction to junk food, sugar or even chocolate. Your goal may be to even compete in a sport at the highest level.

      It doesn’t matter. From now on, you don’t need to worry about anything because we will give you all our knowledge and experiences to help you become the absolute best you can be. You have to take that first step and never look back, just keep on moving forward. No one else can do it for you. No time to exercise and eat healthy food? You will eventually have to find the time to be sick.

      In over 15 years of personal training, we have seen thousands of clients, heard thousands of excuses, and experienced clients with countless body issues. We have the collective answers for you in this book. This book is a way we could reach and help many more people live a life with passion and be totally happy with how they look and feel. There are many books out there related to health and fitness and they promise to transform bodies. So, why is this one different?

      The information you are about to read is responsible for everything we have achieved and it will change your body and your life, just like it did for us.

      There is definitely a trend with today’s diseases - cancer, diabetes, heart disease. They can all be prevented. Yes, prevented! Excess acidity in the body affects every one of us, because of the way we live, the way we eat, and the environment in which we live. The result is an internal acidic environment where disease can easily manifest, as opposed to a pH-alkaline environment which allows the body to function smoothly. Being alkaline is necessary for the body to resist disease. We will discuss more on this amazing acid-alkaline concept in our Eat Green Stay LeanTM chapter. This is one of the best ways to stay lean and healthy for the rest of your life, and something Monica and I follow 100%.

      You must believe that you will have the body you always wanted. You are in control of what goes in your mouth. You are in control of your thoughts. Follow our Eat Green Stay LeanTM healthy eating plan and you will find your cravings will disappear, you will have more energy, and you will have a lean fit body. There are amazing supplements out there to help you make these changes easier, and we will educate you on these and how to use them.

      Children’s health has become a huge issue in Australia, with more than 50% of children being overweight and up to 30% being obese. Adult rates have also soared, with the number of overweight adults rising from 5.4 million to 7.4 million in 10 years. Education at a young age is the key to preventing this crippling health condition. But, it includes more than education. Adults are the key to saving their children. After all, adults are the role models for children and in general, children look up to and wish to resemble the adults in their lives. We should probably all ask ourselves who our children, our grandchildren, our nephews, our nieces, and our students are all looking up to as their role models. What mark are we leaving on their young and impressionable minds?

      How unfortunate is it that we are leaving a legacy of poor health and obesity to our children. No one is born fat. They become fat. They learn from adults. Don’t they deserve better? Now is the time to start teaching them healthy eating and daily exercise habits. Get healthy for the kids, do it for them!

      As you can tell, this issue of childhood obesity is close to our hearts. We hope this book will kick-start many adults into leading healthier lives, and in doing so, create a better, healthier world for the children of today.
