Campus Setting
Augusta is a public, comprehensive university. Founded as a postgraduate academy in 1783, it became a junior college in 1925, was incorporated into the state university system in 1958 and began granting four-year degrees in 1967. Its 72-acre campus is located on a former plantation in Augusta. A four-year public institution, Augusta State University has an enrollment of 7,061 students. In addition to a large, well-stocked library, the campus facilities include: history museum • golf course. Augusta State University provides on-campus housing with 162 units that can accommodate 508 students. Housing options: single-student apartments.
Student Life and Activities
