Head and Neck
Upper and lower mandibles: To a base color of black add very small amounts of burnt umber and white.
Forehead, crown and cheeks: To a base color of black add very small amounts of burnt umber and Thalo blue. Highlight with cadmium yellow medium mixed with a very small amount of Thalo blue. Cheek patch: To a base color of white add a small amount of raw umber.
Chin and throat: To a base color of black add small amounts of burnt umber and Thalo blue.
Neck: To a base color of white add a very small amount of raw umber.
Eyes: 10 mm yellow, small pupil.
Body
Back: To a base color of black add very small amounts of burnt umber and Thalo blue.
Scapulars: To a base color of black add very small amounts of burnt umber, and Thalo blue. Outer scapulars: To a base color of white add a very small amount of raw umber. Edge on forward side with black mixed with very small amounts of burnt umber and Thalo blue.
Sides: To a base color of white add a very small amount of raw umber. The upper sides of the feathers are edged with black mixed with small amounts of burnt umber and Thalo blue.
Chest: To a base color of white add a very small amount of raw umber.
Flanks: To a base color of black add a small amount of white. Feathers are edged with white mixed with a very small amount of black.
Rump: To a base color of black add very small amounts of burnt umber and Thalo blue.
Upper tail coverts: To a base color of black add very small amounts of burnt umber and Thalo blue. Feathers are edged with black mixed with a small amount of white.
Lower tail coverts: To a base color of white add a very small amount of raw umber.
Tail
Upper surface: To a base color of burnt umber add a small amount of white and a very small amount of black. Shafts: To a base color of black add a very small amount of burnt umber; use glossy medium.
Lower surface: Mix equal amounts of burnt umber and white, then add a very small amount of black. Shafts: To a base color of white add very small amounts of raw umber and raw sienna; use glossy medium.
Wing
Primaries: Mix equal amounts of burnt umber and raw umber, then add a very small amount of white. Finely edge with white mixed with very small amounts of raw umber and raw sienna. Shafts: To a base color of black add a very small amount of burnt umber; use glossy medium.
Secondaries: To a base color of white add a very small amount of raw umber.
Tertials: To a base color of black add a very small amount of burnt umber.
