War/Peace - Part II. Clarissa Daisy Huntsman
We can do this with our wings.
CLARISSA
But our wings disappear when we're outside. Duh. And we can't let these people know we're bees. Oh - put that foot pedal in your shoe. It controls volume [3.].
BRIAN SLIPS THE GLOVES ON, PLACES THE PEDAL IN HIS RIGHT SHOE AND THEN SLIPS INTO HIS SNEAKERS.
CLARISSA
Ok, let's go! They're landing! Now be careful; the gloves are connected to the computer so watch for the cables when you walk . . . or dance.
BRIAN
Hey . . . I can't dance.
CLARISSA
Doesn't matter. We'll just perform [2.].
THE TWO WALK TOWARD THE BEEHIVE ENTRANCE. CLARISSA'S WINGS SHRINK TO ARMS AS SHE NEARS THE DOOR.

INT. HONEYBEE HIVE - LEVEL ONE BELOW - DAY
(SAMANTHA, MATT)
SAMANTHA WATCHES MATT AS HE SURVEYS THE SCENE, THE FLOOR, AND THE SMOOTH, INTRICATE, MESMERIZING HONEYCOMB WALLS. AND THE HONEYBEES; DOZENS NOW, EACH AS MAGNIFICENT AS SAMANTHA, AS CLARISSA. THEY GLIDE THROUGH THE AIR, CATCHING WAVES LIKE SURFERS. GYMNASTS WHO REQUIRE NO FLOOR; THEIR CENTER OF GRAVITY SHIFTING LIKE SUBATOMIC PARTICLES IN A QUANTUM UNIVERSE.
SAMANTHA
They make the walls; we all do. When we fly jets of air form behind us [4.]. We dive, we connect, and our jets get tangled [4.] and they rise [4.] and play with the honey in the air and on the walls . . . as we play with one another. And you can hear the singing? That noise comes from our wings when we move them just right [1.] [2.] [3.]. Have you ever sensed anything quite like this?
MATT
No. This place smells amazing. And the colors . . .
SAMANTHA
Jump.
SAMANTHA TAKES MATT'S HANDS IN HER WINGS. MATT GASPS.
MATT
I . . . I don't know, Sammi.
SAMANTHA
Trust me. I won't let you fall.
MATT LOOKS AROUND.
HE TAKES A DEEP BREATH.
AND THEN . . .
. . . JUMPS. AND NOW HE'S SWIMMING UPWARD IN THE MANNER OF A DOLPHIN. HE CONTINUES TO RISE; SAMANTHA HAS HIM SECURELY IN HER WINGS. THEY RISE EVER HIGHER AND SPIN ALA JACK AND ROSE IN "TITANIC" [5]. WHEN THEY'RE TRULY AIRBORNE SAMANTHA TOUCHES HER LIPS TO MATT'S. HE BREATHES HER IN AND HIS BODY BECOMES LIGHTER. HE RISES EVEN HIGHER.
SAMANTHA
Look now. Behind me. This is where we grow our plants; beautiful pot plants. Ha ha.
MATT
Wow. You can't see this room from the ground.
SAMANTHA
Of course not. You have to be a bee. Ha. It's all hydroponic [6.]. We've got artificial light, and a water supply, everything. It's too risky to grow outdoors. You saw the helicopter just now . . .
THEY SPIN LIKE THE BLADES OF A HELICOPTER, ONLY SLOWER. MUCH SLOWER.

EXT. OUTSIDE HONEYBEE HIVE - DAY
(CLARISSA, BRIAN, COP 1, COP 2)
OUTSIDE NOW, IN FRONT OF THE DOZEN OR SO CAMERAS THAT DOT ONE WALL OF THE HIVE, BRIAN WAVES HIS GLOVED HANDS ABOUT. CLARISSA WATCHES THIS HAND AND FINGER DANCE BRIAN PERFORMS BUT SHE CAN'T HEAR A THING. THE CHOPPER IS TOO LOUD. OR ARE THE GLOVES [2.] JUST NOT SPEAKING . . . SINGING?
BRIAN
No sound!
CLARISSA
Wait! We forgot the speaker [2.].
THE HELICOPTER LANDS.
BRIAN
I'll get it.
CLARISSA LOOKS AT THE CHOPPER.
BRIAN WALKS TOWARD THE DOOR.
CLARISSA
No! It's too late. Don't open the door!
TWO MEN EMERGE FROM THE HELICOPTER; PROPELLERS CLEAR THE AIR AS THOUGH LAYING OUT FOR THEM A TRANSPARENT CARPET THAT WILL LEAD STRAIGHT TO THE HIVE.
BRIAN
Do you know the chorus to "Talk That Talk" [1.]?
CLARISSA
Yeah.
BRIAN
Sing it. Then I'll follow with my own rap. I changed the lyrics.
CLARISSA
Um . . .
CLARISSA LOOKS AT THE APPROACHING MEN. SHE SMILES. THEN SHE TURNS AND WALKS TOWARD THE MULTITUDE OF SEEING EYES. SHE SWAYS HER HIPS, BRUSHES HER HAIR BACK AND BEGINS TO SING THE CHORUS TO "TALK THAT TALK" [1.]. HER VOICE IS RASPY BECAUSE OF THE DESERT AIR IN HER LUNGS BUT THIS MAKES HER RENDITION JUST PERFECT.
BRIAN NODS. HE DROPS THE GLOVES AND STROLLS OVER TO CLARISSA.
