when the eclipse period is beginning, and you can lay low during that period. This eclipse occurs in your 1st house so it brings a redefinition of your personality and concept of yourself. You will upgrade them. You will start (and this is a six-month process) to present a new image to the world. Generally this brings wardrobe changes, changes of hair style, a new look. If you haven’t been careful in dietary matters it can bring a detox of the body. You need to take it easy until the 23rd anyway, but especially during the eclipse period. This eclipse will test friendships and will bring life-changing kinds of dramas to the lives of friends. There will be shake-ups and upheavals in professional organizations that you are involved with. There can be encounters with death (most likely on the psychological level) as well. There can be dramas in the family and in the home. Be more patient with family members at this time.
The Solar Eclipse of October 23 occurs right on the cusp of your 8th house of transformation. Again this can indicate encounters with death (although not necessarily literal, physical death). Children (and children figures in your life) should be kept out of harm’s way. They don’t need to be involved in risky kinds of activities. Speculations are also best avoided during this period. Friends will have their marriages tested, and your spouse, partner or current love could have a financial crisis that requires dramatic financial changes.
Eclipses are not punishments. They are merely the Cosmos’s way of clearing obstructions and blockages. The changes that happen tend to be good in the long term, but while they happen they can be uncomfortable.
The career focus should be continued. On the 26th Mars will cross your Mid-heaven and enter your 10th house. This is an important transit that indicates career success. You are on top – above everyone in your world – calling the shots. You are respected and honoured and your achievements are appreciated. You are working hard, but you are succeeding.
Mars is ‘out of bounds’ all month. This shows that you are moving outside your normal circles. You are exploring new ventures and new methods. This seems to help the career.
Health still needs watching until the 23rd. Review our discussion of it last month. It will be good to spend more time at the health spa or to schedule some regular massages.

The view from the top has its good points. You are strong, effective and in charge. You are seen as successful. You have honour and respect. But there are some downsides to all of this too. You are more of a target for competitors, associates and those under you. You are like a lightning rod. This needs to be handled ‘just so’. Do your best to avoid confrontations, especially from the 8th to the 16th. Avoid risk-taking activities then too, and drive more carefully.
Your 8th house is very strong this month (it was strong last month too) and Mars is travelling with Pluto. Therefore surgery might be recommended to you. This doesn’t mean that you have to have it – it is always good to get a second opinion. Also there will be more confrontations with death – not literal, personal death but psychological confrontations. Perhaps you have some ‘close call’, something that could have caused death or serious injury. Those things make a person think and review their lives. Life here on Earth is short and fragile. It can end at any time. We need to be about our true purposes.
These same aspects indicate the power of detox regimes. You respond well to them.
Technically there are no eclipses this month, but many planets are activating eclipse points now – thus it is ‘as if’ there is a re-experience of the eclipse. Uranus will camp out very near an eclipse point all month. This indicates dramas in the lives of friends and the testing of friendships. Children or children figures in your life are having their relationships tested.
The Sun re-activates an eclipse point on the 6th and 7th. This affects the children or children figures in your life and they have dramas. It will be best to avoid speculations during this period too.
Mercury transits this same eclipse point (the Lunar Eclipse of October 8) from the 8th to the 10th. Communications can be challenging; communication equipment might not work as it should. There is drama at the workplace and instability with employees. Mars, the ruler of your Horoscope – and a very important planet for you – re-activates this point on the 15th and 16th and we have already discussed this.
Your spouse, partner or current love has been financially squeezed during the past year, but this month their finances are much improved. He or she is in the midst of a yearly financial peak until the 22nd.

Your overall health and energy began improving in July. Jupiter and Mars moved away from their long-term stressful aspects with you. This month – on the 24th – Saturn is going to move into harmonious aspect with you. Health is still delicate from the 22nd onwards, but nowhere near as delicate as it was in July and October. The stress is mostly coming from short-term planets. If you got through July and October you’ll breeze through December. You can enhance your health further by giving more attention to the liver and thighs until the 17th, and to the spine, knees, teeth, bones, skin and overall skeletal alignment afterwards. Liver detox and thigh massage is powerful until the 17th, while back and knee massage is powerful after then.
The main headline this month is the career. On the 22nd you enter another one of your yearly career peaks. Your 10th house is very powerful all month, with 60 per cent of the planets either there or moving through there this month. It will be a month of continued career success and advancement. There is a ‘cosmic conspiracy’ to bring you success and elevation. It is quite OK to let go of home and family issues now and focus on the career.
Mars will re-activate an eclipse point from the 4th to the 7th. Avoid risk-taking activities, drive more carefully and avoid rush and haste then. On the 5th Mars will move out of your 10th house and into the 11th house of friends. This has been a delicate area of late and you seem to be more devoted to your friends; you want to be there for them.
Love seems happy this month. Until the 10th love opportunities happen in religious or educational settings, in foreign countries or with foreigners. Love is passionate and fiery – just the way you like it. On the 10th Venus will cross the Mid-heaven and enter your 10th house. This indicates love opportunities as you pursue your career goals and with people who are involved in your career. Often this indicates love opportunities occurring with bosses and superiors – people above you in status. In general you are mixing with the high and mighty – you have both their social and financial favour.
Children or children figures in your life have wonderful job opportunities this month. But their relationships are still being tested.
On the 22nd the planetary power shifts back to the Eastern sector of the chart. Personal independence is now much stronger. It is easier to change or create conditions as you want them to be. So now, and for the next six or so months, is the time to do it.
With your career planet in your 9th house from the 24th onwards, there will be more business travel happening. You will feel it more next year, but it is in effect now. This willingness to travel enhances your career.
