River flows from the south to the north of the Krasnoyarsk Krai. The total number of lakes (with the area of more than 1 sq. km.) is 352. In the south of the Krai there is a complex of lakes with minerals and therapeutic muds. By 01 January 2007 the approved mineable reserves of water surface in the Krasnoyarsk Krai are 1 771.88 thousand cubic meters per day.
By January 01, 2007 approved mineable reserves of ground waters in the Krasnoyarsk Krai are 1 770.81 thousand cubic meters per day. In the Krasnoyarsk Krai the annual abstraction of water is 2 731.5 ml. m3; the effluent discharge is 2 424.2 ml. mі. By 01 January 2006 the approved mineable reserves of ground waters in the Krasnoyarsk Krai are 1 664.1 thousand m3 per day, 0.61 kmі per annum.
Recreation resources
Hydromineral resources are the basis of the sanatorium complex in the Krasnoyarsk Krai. Medical benefits drinking waters with high level of mineralization were found in the Rybinsk valley. Mineral waters of the Kansk-Taseevsk valley are quite various in their chemical composition. There is the cardiological sanatorium named “Krasnoyarskoe Zagorie” located near the Kanakovsk water-source.
There are three types of balneological resources (therapeutic muds): turfen, sapropelic and silt. “Ozero Tagarskoe” hospital specializes in pneumonic and tuberculosis treatment. It is situated in the therapeutic region of the town of Minusinsk. Health-improvement sanatorium, which is very popular for its therapeutic muds and waters is situated in the territory of Borovoe Lake (Plahino) in Abakan region.
More than 200 thousands rivers, lakes and water reservoirs contribute to the development of different types of water tourism (foldboating and whitewater rafting (the Mana River, the Sisim River), canoeing, rafting, kite surfing and yachting). The lakes of Verhne-Chulumskaya and Norilsk water systems, Mozharo-Tiberkulsky lakes as well as Krasnoyarsk water reservoir are rich in valuable fish species (taimen, nelma, goldilocks, broad whitefish, cisco, whitefish, peled, omul, grayling, vendace, pike, perch, carp, dace, etc.). Different kinds of the Krai’s biological resources significantly exceed the resources of the other regions of Russia. A lot of animals are available hunting resources: brown bear, reindeer, roe, maral, elk, wolf, hare, duck, goose, capercaillie, black game, tattler, thrush, etc.
Nowadays 150 caves are opened for public; among them there is the longest cave in Russia (50 km) – Oreshnaya. The Krasnoyarsk Krai has many especially protected territories: the Great Arctic State Nature Reserve, the Putoran State Nature Reserve, the Sayano-Shushensky State Nature Bioenvironmental Reserve, the Taimyr Bioenvironmental Nature Reserve, the Tungus Nature Reserve, the “Stolby” State Nature Reserve, the Central-Siberian Nature Reserve, National Park “Shushensky Bor”, the “Ergaki” Nature Park.
The Krasnoyarsk Krai has its share in the structure of known reserves of mineral resources and the structure of non-renewal exploitation in Russia.
The Krasnoyarsk Krai ranks the 1st in the rating of consumer potential among the Russian regions.
